Alexia’s Docs

Welcome to my Documentation Portal. This is an ongoing effort to share very specific technical notes with the whole wide world and my way to give something back to the community that taught me most of the things I know.

If you would like to contribute, please fork the repo, send your articles as a merge request and they will be published. And Thanks!

So why did I use Jekyll instead of MkDocs or Sphinx?

Well, for one, they are all pretty similar in the sense that Sphinx and MkDocs are static documentation platforms in markdown and serve a similar purpose. I’ve used Jekyll mostly because I can deploy it in github pages saving me $$ in webhosting.

Also, because it uses a github repository as backend, so I can edit and push articles straight from a terminal editor, making my life a lot easier. If I am working from the terminal on a personal project, I can go documenting straight from another terminal window in my second monitor as I go on in order to keep track of everything I’m doing and thus, creating a comprehensive step-by-step document.

Or, if I can be absolutely honest with you all, I just am a terminal freak and it’s what I am most comfortable working with. :D

BTW, did I ever mention how much I love documenting in Markdown?
